 Class I Anodize (AAMA 611)

FINISHES:

  1. General:  Finish on exposed aluminum shall be compliant with the performance standards set forth in AAMA Specification 611, “Anodized Architectural Aluminum”.

  2. Aluminum Association Designation:   AA-M10C22A41* (Class I Clear) or AA-M10C22A44* (Class I Color)

  3. Color:  {Specifier to insert color code/name here, e.g. LT215 Clear}.  Color not to vary by more than 5E total.

  4. Warranty:  Anodizer to supply a 5-year warranty.

  5. Quality Assurance:

    a.   All aluminum material specified to be the same color on the job must be anodized by the same facility/company, to ensure consistent color and appearance.

    b.      Anodizer must use computer-controlled crane system, to control tank time and bath parameters, to ensure color consistency on all material for the job

    c.   For lineal extrusions, anodizer must use weld-racking, not clamp-racking, to ensure color consistency for all material on the job

    d.      No secondary billet/stock shall be used, to avoid contaminants that will affect anodizing appearance and color.

    e.   Alloy and temper shall be same for all anodized aluminum, to ensure consistent color and appearance.

    f.       For panels/sheets, all material for job must be from the same coil stock, to ensure color consistency.   For a very large project that must exceed a single coil stock, the same coil stock should be used within each elevation.
