Recycled
Paint.
Liquid paints (PVDF
Kynar/Hylar and Baked Enamels) may be produced from up to 100%
post-industrial waste. Depending on the type of paint and
the color, the paint applicator can blend excess/waste paint
to create new paint. This option requires use of an
applicator that has in-house blending capabilities. Linetec
will work with a customer and identify color options that can
use surplus/excess paint. If a color is already selected,
Linetec will advise what the possible recycled content range
is, and provide documentation after painting on the actual
recycled content.
Recycled Finished
Aluminum. Excess
anodized aluminum from a previous project or manufacturer’s
inventory can be stripped and recoated with either an anodized
or painted finish. Aluminum that is re-used in this manner
can be documented by Linetec and provided to the design
professional.
Recycled Raw
Aluminum (e.g. secondary billet).
Secondary billet
can be used for aluminum products. Typically, secondary
billet recycled content will be approximately 60-70%
post-industrial content. You can request documentation from
your aluminum product manufacturer for the exact amount of
recycled content. Caution. Secondary billet is not
recommended if the aluminum will receive an anodize finish.
Only primary billet is recommended for anodizing, to avoid
risk of secondary trace elements that can result in
significant variation in anodize color or gloss. Secondary
billet is safe to use on aluminum that will receive a painted
finish. |
