Linetec Celebrates 25th Anniversary with 25 Community Service Events

Linetec celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Recognizing its milestone and the people who contributed to its achievements, Linetec will be hosting events for its employees, customers, community and many others who are part of its quarter-century of success.

Linetec began its yearlong celebration in January with the kick-off of more than 25 scheduled community service events benefiting Wausau-area nonprofits and marketing activities helping educate community and industry professionals. The first quarter’s volunteer activities included:

·         25+ units of blood donated to the BloodCenter of Northcentral Wisconsin.

During the past five years, Linetec’s frequent blood drives have helped more than 1,800 people through the BloodCenter of Northcentral Wisconsin, which is the main supplier for Aspirus Health Care System. Every three seconds, someone in the U.S. requires a blood product. As red blood cells only have a shelf-life of 42 days, Linetec has scheduled additional drives in April, June, July and October.

·         250 families helped by five boxes food donated to The Neighbors’ Place.

Last year, The Neighbors’ Place and its Food Pantry served 24,400 individuals from 9,500 families. This independent nonprofit, unaffiliated with any state or national organization, operates with a small staff and relies on donations of money, time, household items and food.

·         25-person tour for Marathon High School’s technical education students.

Linetec’s hosts explained the facilities and operations, as well as areas of responsibility for various personnel. One of the educators noted, “…this tour gives the students insight into the possible careers and opportunities available” and “…helps the students to see how the information that they are studying in school is applied to real work situations.”

Looking ahead, Linetec’s second quarter of community service and marketing events include:
