“Our paint and anodize finishes can play an essential role in
helping a building achieve its LEED rating,” says Linetec President
Rick Marshall. As examples of its beneficial contributions, he
highlights:
Indoor Environmental Quality –
Low-Emitting Materials
and
Innovation and Design Process –
Innovation in Design:
For either interior or exterior applications,
Linetec’s powder paint and anodize finishes can be specified as
VOC-free coatings. For liquid paint finishes containing VOC, Linetec
relies on specialized equipment to capture and destroy VOC with 95%
efficiency during its factory-applied painting process. Destroying
VOC and avoiding emissions into the atmosphere further prevents
pollution and ozone depletion.
Materials and Resources –
Recycled Content:
Liquid Kynar®
paints may be requested with up to 100%
post-industrial waste. Excess anodized aluminum from a previous
project or manufacturer’s inventory may be stripped and re-coated
using either anodize or painted finishes. Additionally, aluminum
products may be specified with secondary billet.
Building Reuse:
For renovation and restoration projects,
Linetec maintains a full-time painting crew.
Construction Waste Management:
For aluminum components sent directly to
the job site. Linetec can provide returnable containers as an
alternative to lumber creates and cardboard packaging.
Regional Materials:
For the many of Linetec’s customers,
finishing services are available within 500 miles of the
construction site.
Indoor Environmental Quality –
Thermal Comfort:
A thermal barrier incorporated into the aluminum
framing of architectural window products may enhance comfort and
performance. Linetec offers Azon pour and debridge services, as well
as Ensinger Insulbar®
services.
