Wausau, Wis. (March 2007) – Linetec
has won 2006 Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Grand Award for
overall outstanding achievement in the category of “large company.”
Linetec is one of the nation’s largest
paint and anodize finishers and one of just four companies in
the state, and the only in its size classification, to receive this
annual award.
Company president Rick Marshall
thanked the hosts, judges and Linetec’s employees when he was
presented the award at a black-tie banquet
held March 1, 2007 in the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. In his
acceptance speech, he noted that Linetec “has a long-standing
history of values-based management. The company’s Core Values –
created almost 10 years ago based on employee input – have remained
unchanged since that time.”
Marshall also highlighted the
company’s adoption of the Six Sigma philosophy to drive its
continuous improvement and quality. More than 50 employees have
completed advanced training to lead Six Sigma projects, including
collaborative projects with customers, to reduce waste, shorten lead
times and yield financial savings.
Operational excellence, continuous
improvement, and commitment to employees are key areas evaluated by
the Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year judging panel comprised of
business, government, education and the
business media leaders. Other criteria they examine are
financial growth or consistency, technological advances, product
development, environmental solutions, and effective research and
development.
Among its many accomplishments,
Linetec was recognized for its customer focus, community
involvement, environmental leadership, safety record and sales
growth, as well as leveraging technology to enhance customer and
employee communication.
