Linetec Selected as PPG Certified Applicator Ensuring             Color Uniformity, Responsive Service

Wausau, Wis. (July 2005) – Linetec, the nation’s largest independent high-performance architectural metals finishing company, has been accredited as a member of the PPG Certified Applicator Program (PPG/CAP). 

As the newest organization to join the Program, Linetec becomes part of an elite group of commercial coating applicators who are certified by PPG to apply exterior coatings with outstanding performance characteristics, including high-performance coatings such as Duranar® and Coraflon® Kynar 500^®/Hylar 5000^® coatings. Linetec can coat multiple material types, in a variety of finishes, and in an array of colors, including solids, metallics, micas and two-tone.

Tammy Schroeder, Linetec’s marketing specialist, notes that PPG sought out Linetec to become a certified applicator. “We are committed to continually improving color uniformity and to providing responsive customer service. PPG’s CAP builds on our existing tools with a set of protocols further minimizing the potential for color variance in coatings. Additionally, PPG provides educational and promotional support to help us share this expertise with architects, general contractors and glazing contractors in the commercial construction marketplace.” 

To become part of the PPG Certified Applicator Program, Linetec met a rigorous auditing process that that encompasses all aspects of the coating process, from the initial mixing, matching and formulation of their coatings to the actual application of the coating to the metal substrate. The audit also specifies procedures for the cleaning and pre-treating of metal substrates, paint application parameters and cure schedules, and how finished products should be handled, packed and shipped.
