Williams Mullin's downtown, mixed-use office property

features aluminum grilles finished by Linetec

Wausau, Wis. (March 2011) – The Williams Mullin building in Richmond, Va., not only serves as the downtown headquarters for its namesake law firm, but also leases space to a mix of businesses, retailers, café and other amenities. Accommodating the many tenants and visitors, the Class A building’s three-story parking garage features Doralco’s architectural grilles, finished by Linetec.

“The architectural grilles were designed to keep headlights from shining into adjacent buildings through the use of tilted blades,” explains Tom O’Malley, Doralco’s vice president. Doralco’s aluminum, architectural grilles contain a minimum of 50% post-consumer recycled content. Enhancing these environmental attributes, Linetec finished the architectural grilles in an eco-friendly Class II clear anodize.

“This carefully-controlled factory process minimizes imperfections in secondary billet to create an aesthetically-appealing matte finish. Because it is an integral part of the substrate, the anodic coating results in a hard, durable substance providing excellent wear and abrasion resistance with minimal maintenance,” says Linetec’s senior marketing specialist, Tammy Schroeder, LEED® Green Associate.

Williams Mullin Doralco pre-assembled the finished grilles and shipped them to the glazing contractor, Emmitsburg Glass, for a convenient, smooth installation. The entire 15-story, 210,000-square-foot project was completed in the summer of 2010. Total construction was estimated at $60 million.
