DOES ANODIZING ADD THICKNESS TO THE MATERIAL?

No. The etch process that produces the matte finish actually removes a small amount of material (about .001 inch) and the anodizing process converts the etched surface into a hard aluminum oxide surface that penetrates the substrate and maintains the material thickness.

WHAT WARRANTY CAN I GET ON ANODIZING?

Our standard warranty on anodizing is 5 years against deterioration, fading or pitting.

WILL THE ETCH TANK AT ANODIZING TAKE OUT IMPERFECTIONS?

As a good rule of thumb, the etch process will take out only those imperfections that you can not feel with your fingernail.

WILL THE ANODIZED FINISH ON EXTRUSIONS BE THE SAME AS ON SHEET PRODUCTS?

The finish performance will be the same but the appearance may be slightly different due to differences in the substrates alloy and surface texture.

WHY DOES LINETEC RACK WELD THE LINEAL MATERIAL AND HOW DOES IT LOOK WHEN SHIPPED TO US?

The quality of an anodized finish depends on a number of items including a consistent flow of electrical current through the aluminum being anodized. Linetec rack welds to provide the most positive connection possible to the electrical current source. When removed from the rack the lineals have only a slight ¼" to ½" area removed on each end. In fabrication, your first saw cut is usually closer to the end than required on clamp or slit racked material.

CAN YOU ANODIZE LARGE PARTS? HOW LARGE?

Yes.we can anodize parts that are up to 36" wide by 72" high and 30'-6" long.
