Linetec Enhances
Pour and Debridge Thermal Services with Addition of Azo-Brading
Wausau,
Wis. (November 2003) – Enhancing its
services as a single source for finishing architectural aluminum
products, Linetec recently added Azo-Brading™ services to its
thermal break offerings.
The pour and debridge process installs a
polyurethane barrier into an aluminum extrusion cavity, effectively
blocking the transmission of heat and cold between the interior and
exterior surfaces. This greatly enhances the thermal performance of
the aluminum window, curtainwall or door, providing energy savings and
frost-free, comfortable interiors. A disadvantage of pour and
debridge thermal barriers is that they have a remote risk of
shrinkage, which can lead to water penetration.
Now
with the optional Azo-Brading service, Linetec’s customers can use
pour and debridge without risk of thermal shrinkage. The Azo-Brader
is a mechanical device that improves the
adhesion characteristics
of the aluminum extrusion cavity prior to pouring the polyurethane
material. For customers that use pour and debridge with the
Azo-Brading service, Linetec is able provide them with Azon’s 10-year
warranty against thermal barrier shrinkage.
“Our customers have found great success
using our Azo-Brading process on the pour and debridge work we do for
them to reduce the risk of thermal shrinkage,” said Rick Marshall,
Linetec president.
